It was relatively slow week here at iLounge, as accessory submissions slowed to a crawl in the wake of Apple’s recent iPad announcement, and Adobe continued its back-and-forth with Apple over the future of Flash on the iPhone OS platform. Here’s a look at what’s new.

Apple this week launched its “Countdown to 10 billion songs” promotion, offering a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card to the user who downloads the 10 billionth song from iTunes, NPD reported that Apple was the fifth-largest electronics retailer, both online and in brick-and-mortar sales, in the U.S. during 2009, and the company began soliciting App Store feedback from iPhone developers.
A new report suggested Apple is planning to debut $1 standard-definition TV show offerings alongside the iPad launch, Applereleased the second beta version of its iPhone SDK 3.2 for iPad, Disney CEO Bob Iger called the iPad a potential “game changer,” and text found on Apple’s website stated that the iBooks app will be an optional download for iPad users.
Apple TV & iPhone Update
Apple this week released Apple TV Software Update 3.0.2, bringing with it connectivity, performance, and media-related bug fixes, new data from ComScore showed that the iPhone accounts for more than a quarter of the U.S. smartphone market, Adobe claimed it saw seven million Flash download attempts from iPhone and iPod touch users in December 2009, and a new report suggested Google pays Apple more than $100 million per year for its position as the default search engine on the iPhone.
